Technical and cultural tours for registered delegates (not for accompanying persons) are programmed for Wednesday, 1 October afternoon. These tours are included in the registration fee for both regular participants and students. Please select the tour you wish to attend in the corresponding section of the online registration form, one tour per registered delegate (Limited seats, first-come first-served basis).

CEIT-IK4 (http://www.ceit.es) is a non-profit multidisciplinary research centre created by the University of Navarra in 1982. Its core mission is to serve the industrial sector carrying out projects of applied research while training young researchers through a comprehensive doctoral teaching program in the industrial area. CEIT has six departments: Materials, Applied Mechanics, Electronics & Communications, Environmental Engineering, Microelectronics & Microsystems and Biomedical Engineering. CEIT’s Materials Department is involved for about 15 years in the development of materials for nuclear fusion application (W alloys, ODS steels and ceramic materials, among others). The visit includes the Materials and the Applied Mechanics Departments.
The CIC nanoGUNE Nanoscience Cooperative Research Centre (http://www.nanogune.eu/en), located in Donostia-San Sebastian (Basque Country), is a research center set up with the mission to perform word-class nanoscience research for the economic development and competitive growth of the Basque Country. nanoGUNE opened its doors in 2009 and five years later 9 research groups develop their activities here: Nanomagnetism, Nanooptics, Self-Assembly, Nanobiomechanics, Nanodevices, Electron Microscopy, Theory, Nanomaterials and Nanoimaging.
Graphenea (http://www.graphenea.com) is a pioneer graphene production company founded in 2010 as a joint venture of private investors and nanoGUNE with the mission of commercialising high quality graphene and developing graphene-based technologies. Nowadays, the company produces graphene films by Chemical Vapor Deposition technology and graphene powders by Chemical Exfoliation techniques.

Tecnalia Research & Innovation (http://www.tecnalia.com/en) is the first private applied research centre in Spain and one of the most important in Europe. TECNALIA offers to the scientific instruments sector (space/-astrophysics/high energy) technology transfer opportunities in plasma handling, high power electronics certification, robotics handling, data processing, heat dissipation, neutron shielding materials and advanced manufacturing solutions. Our references in the fusion area are activities supporting the manufacturing of the ITER first wall panels. TECNALIA collaborates in the development of instruments for equipment, as part of the activities to support the conceptual and preliminary design of the European test blanket modules, by covering experimental activities, instrumentation development, and qualification of functional materials.
IK4-CIDETEC (http://www.cidetec.es/en), a Technology Centre belonging to the IK4 Research Alliance, is specialized in generating and transferring knowledge and technology in the technical fields of materials, surfaces and energy. Its mission is to enhance business competitiveness and capacity for innovation through the development of new products and processes. At the Surfaces Division it covers the whole value chain, from the characterization of surface properties to the design of tailor-made treatments to obtain specific properties as well as the design and industrial scale-up of different innovative and cost-effective coating and surface modification developments.

Let us guide you along our stunning coast on our way to Getaria where you will have fantastic views of all the coastline and the mountains. Pretty contrast between the Green and the Blue, the Mountains and the Cantabrian Sea. Once we get there, we will take you to a Txakoli winery where you will enjoy a private visit and degustation of Txakoli (local white wine created with grapes growing in front of the sea) paired with some local products. Then we will take you for a small walk and we will guide you through the little streets of this cute fishing village.
