Welcome
We cordially invite you to participate at the 18th IUPAC International Symposium on Organometallic Chemistry Directed Towards Organic Synthesis (OMCOS 18; June 28th – July 2nd). For the first time, OMCOS will be organized in Spain and it will take place in the Auditorium of the Hotel Melià in Sitges - Barcelona. Sitges is a highly touristic coastal town, famous for its beaches and historical sites that is located 35 km south of Barcelona and well connected to Barcelona International airport.
The OMCOS 18 meeting follows on from Fort Collins (2013), Shanghai (2011), Glasgow (2009), Nara (2007), Geneva (2005), Toronto (2003), Taipei (2001), Versailles (1999), Göttingen (1997), Santa Barbara (1995), Kobe (1993), Utrecht (1991), Florence (1989), Vancouver (1987), Kyoto (1985), Dijon (1983), and Fort Collins (1981).
This symposium will bring together chemists from industry and academia from around the world and it is centered on the most recent advances in new metal-catalyzed and metal-promoted reactions, mechanistic insights and new applications, novel preparations and uses of organometallic reagents, as well as ingenious and improved methods for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and materials. We strongly encourage young scientists, particularly graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, to attend OMCOS 18. The meeting will offer an excellent opportunity to meet prestigious speakers that will cover an exceptionally broad range of topics at the frontier of chemical research.
The OMCOS 18 is organized by the “Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ)”, Tarragona, Spain. The scientific program of this symposium will include plenary lectures, invited lectures, short communications and poster sessions.
We wish you all a wonderful time in Sitges!
