Anthony A. Kossiakoff received his Ph.D degree in Physical Chemistry from the University of Delaware.
After a postdoc at Caltech he join the Biology Department at Brookhaven National Laboratory where he
developed applications of neutron diffraction to protein structural studies. He worked at Genentech from
1983- 1998 serving as the director of the Protein Engineering Department. In 1998 Dr. Kossiakoff moved
to the University of Chicago as Chairman of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and
Otho S.A. Sprague Professor. He is also a Professor in the Institute for Biophysical Dynamics and Senior
Fellow, The Joint Institute for Genomics and Systems Biology.
