The psychosocial assessment of donors is an important factor in living donor transplantation, yet there are few standardized approaches to ensure the quality of assessment and understand the long term psychosocial risk for candidates.
Developed by the Psychological Care for Living Donors and Recipients working group of ELPAT/ESOT, the new EPAT tool provides a method for psychosocial assessment of potential kidney and liver donors. The tool includes self-report questionnaires and semi-structured interview questions to provide a structured approach that can be easily translated to widespread clinical practice.
This special workshop is open to all on Monday 25th September at 1.00pm, and will show how the EPAT tool can be implemented into clinical practice and improve outcomes for donors.
